48 beds, mattresses and bed sheets, 10 wardrobes, 16 lamps, 70sqm of parquet, lots of paint, over 50 people, 14 working hours and... finally! A long planned dream finally came true.

It was once again, the help of some people with big hearts, that made this dream have a happy ending. Thanks to them the children from Tancabesti received new beds and are now living in renovated rooms. We were impressed by the McCann team’s promptitude who purchased the beds, the sheets and mattresses; the Holcim Teneco Team who renovating the walls for 4 days and last but not least, the people from IKEA who donated all the materials for the re-décoration (drapes, wardrobes, lamps, brackets, rugs and parquet). 

The presence of the 50 volunteers recruited from amongst friends, acquaintances, and the friends of our friends, amazed us. Many of them decided to join the evening before when over a beer they heard of our plans.  

Saturday morning, when the Romanian Army troops were majestically marching on the Kisselef Boulevard, our little army invaded the rooms and hallways of the Center on a mission to turn it into a warmer, more pleasant and human place by the end of the day for the 49 children. 

Work division has been done spontaneously without any plans, everyone got in the place where they could be more helpful: all of them helping with the beds, some with the wardrobes, some at painting the walls, some at painting, some at installing the lamps, parquet etc. Just like ants and equally skillful, the people put in all the strength they had to finish a week's job by the end of the day. 

Close to midnight, we said our farewells and left something good behind. We say thank you to those who helped with this action and no more word parade. Let’s allow the photos to speak for themselves…
